A view of Johannesburg taken in early autumn 2009, from the Melville Koppies, east face.
In the distance is the Brixton Tower and the SABC (south african broadcasting headquarters).
The koppie, which is in effect a nature reserve in the middle of the city suburbs, literally surrounded by homes,
can only be accessed by guided tours.

Greetings to your views of Johannesburg and to you too :)
There have to be some high place more near the city or am I wrong. My daughter was there and took photos from a rocky place, rather high and very abrupt, is there any like this?
Happy day to you, Gena!
Now there are a few views I haven't seen in many a year. The Melville Koppies are a wonderful little oasis of natural beauty in the city. So glad it's still protected.
I`v never been there, but it looks beautiful. Great pictures you show, especially the last one with the lovely clouds;-)
Wish you a great week!
Yep, the last one just reminded me how bright those southern skies can be!
Whole lotta changing going on around here ... it's a nice new look.
And now let me see the other photos 'cause I see you've been busy even on weekend.
Great photo, it is nice to hear that they have a nture reserve so close to the city.
HI Gena
The colours are fantastic!
Nice views of the cities, but the one in the reserve--what a sky! Gorgeous!

I do enjoy my Tuesday trip around the world. This as a great stop.
Very lovely views of the city.
I love the colours in the foreground and the whispy clouds.
Thats really cool! have you ever been to Islandawana or Roarks Drift? Just curious, I love military history..:-)
I think I should add the Koppies to my list for next time I visit. I would love to get a nice Jhb skyline pic for my stock.
I love your shots. They're all interesting so I'm following you now.
Your world is so beautiful and these are excellent photos Gena.
Greetings and Salutations! I have always dreamed of going to Johannesburg. At least now I can watch your post and get an idea how it looks. Sigh. You sure have a photographer's "eye". Nice composition. Your sky shots are excellent.
