The Morning Glory has got to be one of the most photogenic flowers around!
The bluish/ purple/lilac colour, the shape, the simple, subtle detail, it's just perfect for capturing on camera.
They do have one flaw though, the centre part is literally a luminous white,
so depending on time of day and angle, the centre area often is not clear -
just a white "haze". Well I was determined, and eventually managed to snap
at the right angle to capture the inner detail - woo hoo!!!

Incidentally this "plant" has been declared an invasive alien in South Africa (as it
smothers everything in sight and self seeds copiously) - that said, they are
still gorgeous!

I adore morning glories, weed or no!It is beautiful here, come late summer when the sides of the roads and fallow fields are full of them.
I have a slightly,hm...eccentric friend named Nettie who is in her late 60s.She takes walks around her town...and sprinkles morning glory seeds allover.I call her Mother Nature:)
Love the blue morning glory; what a shot. Happy Blue Monday.
Beautiful flower shot. We have invasive species here, also, and nearly all of them were imported by people who thought they were lovely...
Oh my that color is so beautiful it makes me weep with joy. Morning glories are so beautiful (and if I recall a little pesky - which makes them all the more endearing)
It really is a beautiful flower, with an amazing center. It is too bad that it's considered invasive and to be gotten rid of... but we don't want the native species dying out because of it. Purple loosestrife is like that around here.
A weed is anything that thrives where it is not wanted. A rose in a corn field is a weed. I like your morning glory.
Dear Happy Home maker : Oh how wonderful - what a great story!!! I love people like that - they make you smile and think "what the heck"!!!!
Thanks for visiting and you comment which really made my day!
Everyone else - I love the comments - amazing how people feel about this plant!!

This is a great macro of the Morning Glory. It looks like it has been visited by a bee moments before, I love that little bit of pollen on it.
The morning glory plants are so very pretty. I learned something from your post, as I did not know they could be so destructive.
that's beautiful
Very beautiful -- love the color!
Lovely capture and even though they are invasive, they are still my all-time favorite flower. =)
They might be a nuisance in South Africa, but they are gorgeous! Nicely photographed. :)
They are hard to grow here in our miserable, English climate. LOL!
