These photographs were taken just at the end of our "winter" season,
in late August, from the top of Northcliff Hill. There are amazing view over parts
of Johannesburg and it's suburbs from this vantage point.
I got there a little later than I had hoped for, nevertheless managed to get a
few worthy captures.
The first three images were taken towards the setting sun over the West Rand
The last two images, are of the water tower, taken facing east, where I was
fortunate enough to be able to capture the rising full moon - how wonderful
to be able to capture both the setting sun and rising (full) moon in the space
of 20 minutes!!!! Timing is everything after all!!!

a beautiful sunset and a moonrise at the same time :)
This is a stunning series of shots...I love the perspective of looking up at the water tower. And the moon looks like a ball being dropped into a pillow of clouds..very cool!
The second shot is my favourite - the silhouette of that bush in the sunset, and the way the path seems to end in space!!

Stunning phots. I should make a note and search for the spot next time I'm up there. One thing that I'm surprised at is that there aren't other people around. One would have expected more people with such a beautiful sunset and the full moon rising.
What appealing sceneries; I wish I had the opportunity to go on a cheap flight to South Africa now and be at this relaxing place. The pictures are simple amazing.
