An Indigenous Lily : Macro Monday

the dietes grandiflora - the large wild iris also known as the "fairy iris" is a somewhat non discript indigenous (south african) lily, until it flowers en masse!  this is but one bloom - I love the colours and amazing detail, which looks like it's been painted on.

I made a comment yesterday to a fellow blogger, that what I love about macro photography is the fact that you really get to see and notice all the finer details which you normally would not even notice -  and this is a perfect example.

Great Macro an dI totally agree, one of the great things with macro is that you discover details that are not visible with the eye only

Thanks for your comment!

Oooh! So pretty! The yellow looks almost painted on. So delicate and fresh looking.
Doesn't make me feel warmer, though. The white reminds me of snow. hehe!
