A Walk to the Waterfall

These were captured at the National Botaincal Gardens, which makes a perfect outing due to the hikes, walks, and wonderful views, as well as being a great place to take pictures.   The sun was still too high for my liking, but I decided to capture a few scenes anyway.

Picture above is a view of the walk to the waterfall - I wanted to capture the scale of the surrounds - the mountain, the trees vs. the pole fencing and people, for example.

Above and below - A closer view of the waterfall

A really heavenly place. I can see why you were not happy with the light but the scenes are definitely worth it no matter what the light is.

How beautiful those waterfalls are!

You asked about my SSS picture. It's taken in Holland in a little place called Gendringen, next to the German border.

What a gorgeous spot this is! Are the gardens in Johannesburg? I've only spent two nights there going and coming from Mala Mala, so I haven't seen much. But I really enjoyed the Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town.

The shadows are so different - in the top, the mountain like rock has subtle shadows, the trees leaving a solid and really visible shadow on the grass. The shadows and reflections of the halls are wonderful. You give a lovely view of a country and continent to hope to visit someday, wheelchair and all!

Some thoughts/ comments:
Hi Xavi ! Hope you get an opportunity to vist soon!

Hi JM thanks for the visit and your comment, sorry for late reply, crazy week!!
The gardens are just outside of Johannesburg but in a built up area - the garden/ reserve is quite large though and and you can go hiking on the mountain! Well best you make plans to come out to South Africa again!!!

Ferreira Pinto - Nice, so glad it has good memories for you ....
