The Terracotta Pot

This image was taken during another one of the open gardens in
Johannesburg last spring .....
It was really delightful garden to walk through and photograph, with
an almost provencal flavor to it ... loads of gravel, large terracotta pots,
some metalwork, a few large Plane trees, roses, benches, etc.etc.

Hey Gena ... it's been great catching up on your great images after a long absence from the internet - that old Pepsi Cola sign from your one Pilgram's Rest post just blows me away ... I'd love to visit the place on a photographic expedition someday ...

Hi Graham - you must - highly recommmended!!! I was there with family, so had to "hurry' which is never conducive to taking many or great pictures, so want to go back on my own or with others' who are on the same "mission' so to speak .....

By the Way ... a friend of mine was in Namibia last October and went to Luderitz and Kolmanskop (i think it is?) now I'm DEAD keen to get out there ..... too many places, not enough time (or money - hehe!!!)
Great to hear from you!

Hi Gena... great blog. Makes me homesick. Been looking for a good South African blog with great pictures and looks like I found it!

Great Sepia Love that tree behind the pot too. The textures are beautiful.

The texture of the tree, pot and plant lends itself perfectly to being used in sepia
