September is heritage month in South Africa. And to celebrate, this past weekend the Parktown and Westcliff Heritage Trust, ran their annual array of heritage tours in and around Johannesburg. They are the people who ensure that old buildings remain intact and preserved for years to come. The event was extremely well organised and attended and people had a great choice of places to see. I crammed in 2 tours each day (Sat & Sun) which meant that I virtually ate, drank, walked (tho not slept) heritage. I was mostly on my feet for well over 6 hours each day. All in all very informative and interesting weekend. Of course, my dear friend the camera was present too and took copious amounts of pictures .....
