These were captured at the National Botaincal Gardens, which makes a perfect outing due to the hikes, walks, and wonderful views, as well as being a great place to take pictures. The sun was still too high for my liking, but I decided to capture a few scenes anyway.
Picture above is a view of the walk to the waterfall - I wanted to capture the scale of the surrounds - the mountain, the trees vs. the pole fencing and people, for example.
Above and below - A closer view of the waterfall

A really heavenly place. I can see why you were not happy with the light but the scenes are definitely worth it no matter what the light is.
Very scenic pictures. I wish I could be there now.

Hi Gena
I love the photos. You did a great job with the first, capturing the space. The first photo is very inviting - really nice. The waterfall looks great. I love waterfalls - I am always amazed by their beauty.

What a place!
Around me here in Cairo I see mainly sand. A lot of it!
Happy SSS!
How beautiful those waterfalls are!
You asked about my SSS picture. It's taken in Holland in a little place called Gendringen, next to the German border.
What a beautiful waterful. Thanks for visiting my shadowshot entry.
Now that looks like a lovely spot for a hike. Very nice!
Thanks again for visiting, Gena.
I love to visit all the botanical gardens of all the cities I visit.
I have yet to visit the gardens of South Africa. I hope to soon.
Enjoy a great sunday.

What a beautiful place! Great shots.
Torrents of water
crashing down massive boulders—
lustily they sing!
Snowflake or star? You decide!

Hi Gena - thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.. I love your photos - the scenery is beautiful! Regards Anne
I love the waterfall. It is beautiful.
What a gorgeous spot this is! Are the gardens in Johannesburg? I've only spent two nights there going and coming from Mala Mala, so I haven't seen much. But I really enjoyed the Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town.
Very nice scenery. Very nice photos.
Paz
Looks like a wonderful place!
The shadows are so different - in the top, the mountain like rock has subtle shadows, the trees leaving a solid and really visible shadow on the grass. The shadows and reflections of the halls are wonderful. You give a lovely view of a country and continent to hope to visit someday, wheelchair and all!
I think I could stand before the waterfall and be mesmerized for hours, This does look like a wonderful place to walk and take photos!
Great photos of that gorgeous waterfall area! Nice shadows too.
Hi Gena, Becky of Thoughtfully Blended Hearts told me about your blog post--so I just HAD to check it out My hubby and I are 'waterfall 'people and we have visited over 400 waterfalls since 2001. Obviously, we haven't seen this one--but would LOVE to... Maybe someday!!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing. It is just so gorgeous.
Hugs,
Betsy
I haven't seen many of the sights around your part of the country and this is one of the places I haven't been to.
So beautiful and solemn place to walk around.
Looks like postcard. Lovely!
Oh my. Now I recall swimming there and jumping off the rocks...some 25 years ago.
Seeing this killed me and brought back my soul ... this is a place I perfectly remember. Thanks for allowing me to kill some of that "saudade"!

Hi Xavi ! Hope you get an opportunity to vist soon!
Hi JM thanks for the visit and your comment, sorry for late reply, crazy week!!
The gardens are just outside of Johannesburg but in a built up area - the garden/ reserve is quite large though and and you can go hiking on the mountain! Well best you make plans to come out to South Africa again!!!
Ferreira Pinto - Nice, so glad it has good memories for you ....
