St George's - White River

a view of the quaint St. George's Anglican Church in White River, apparently built
on this site in 1916.
and is very close to the Kruger National Park - worth the visit if you are in the area.

That's a lovely little chapel. I wonder if it's still in use?

What a beautiful little old church! I'm guessing the stones were hewn from a local quarry. I love their colors.

Hi Bill - hope you are well!
yes the church is still very much in use - popular for weddings and such festivities - at the time we were there, they were in preparation for a wedding later in the day. thanks for popping by

Hi Pat - thanks for the visit and your comment .... I would guess that yes the rocks are from the area - agree with you re. colours, they have a lovely hue and texture which in the cloudy light seems to stand out more!!!

That looks so serene and so lively at the same time, I feel as if I've been there myself.

That's my church! and was built in 1926 and completed in 1929 and officially opened in 1931. The stone was quarried from the farm across the road.

It is very much in use and has 2 services on a Sunday and 1 on a Tuesday.
