Great shot. When I see muchrooms I always try to get a couple of photos. It is some kind of bracket mushroom. The closest I have is this one (http://fireflyafrica.blogspot.com/2009/07/orange-brown-lacquered-bracket.html), but I'm sure I have some more in my photo stock. Should post some sometime.
The only unusual thing here is that you stopped, saw and photographed nature reclaiming what once held a crown to her achievement and now holds the skirts for the dancer of death to show that beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder. You are an unusual photographer in that like all you see more than the camera can ever show yet your photographs still hold the essence of your vision.
Hi Jonker, thanks so much for the input - had no idea what they are, other than being fungus ..... loved your post - such clarity and great color!!! Gena
Thinking Aloud is about my (almost obsessive) love for capturing the moment and my ongoing learning curve on photography. It's about places, people, adventures, travels... it's also about creating awareness of South Africa (where I live) sharing it's beauty, and whatever else may come up along the way. Welcome!
