An indigenous beauty


a gorgeous Strelitzia  - indigenous to South Africa and commonly
known as Bird of Paradise.
this was taken whilst on my walkout at the Voortrekker Monument

Very striking! They use them in floral decorations here now, but it always seems to me such a shame to cut them.
