As time goes by...

This was taken in Setubal, Portugal last year.
I've entitled this image "as time goes by" because it reflects so vividly
the effects of time, weather, climate, age - from the "washed" look of the salmony red
colour on the walls, the faded yellow, the dusty cream architraves, the weathered
blue door, the worn white curtains behind that, the rusty tones of the
juliette blacony - they all contribute to an image depicting the ravages of time.

There is so much color to look at here; the faded blue door, the streaks of red on the wall, the ornamented column, the grill work of the tiny balcony. I really like this.

You can almost see its former glory desperately trying to hang on.

Oh I love these kind of shots. They get my imagination playing...there is so much to take note of int that photo. Love the electrical lines running below...almost seems like they don't belong.

Thanks for posting.

Looks like this one has seen better days. Although I really like it, has plenty of character. Would love to see Portugal some day.

Ferreira-Pinto has just taken the words out of my mouth! :-) I was intrigued when I looked at the photo until I read Setúbal and realized then this was an old portuguese building.

What a wonderful photo, so many colors, lines and textures. The years and the weather have certainly taken their toll on this building.

What gorgeous color - a wonderful door. Love that weathered look, though it looks like some panes are missing? A contrast to how Thomas Jefferson's house looked on someone else's post.

Beautiful! I was given a photo for Christmas very similar, I wonder if it is the same door?

I absolutely love this picture. It is stunning. People living there must walk past that every day without noticing, but it just takes one good photographer to spot it and the world gets to see it.

Hej my new cyperfriend! So happy for all your warm words! Thanks!

Love your picture. Old door might be one of my favorite things! Would love to change all my new manufactured doors in my new built house to old doors with patena, life and history. Nature is the greatest artist of us all :)

See you around my friend. Kram från Sverige.
