name of this "item" - the plant itself is vine like (creeping/ climbing) the leaves
are large and similar to the passion fruit leaf, this "pod" is an elongated shape
with a knobbly texture, turning more yellow as it ripens, there are red seeds
inside that apparently have a camphor like scent to them. Any ideas?!

It looks like some sort of a gourd, or if edible, a squash. A lot of such plants have bizarre shapes.
