Wisteria Dilemma

For some reason I battle to capture a decent image of Wisteria.  I deleted most images

from  last year and don't think I have used one pic to date.   This year, no real

satisfaction, so far, no "aha" moment yet ....

I'm not sure if it's the detail (too much) of the hanging flower, or the fact that they come

out in Spring at that time when the wind is still around, making it difficult to capture

perfectly.     Anyway, I managed this shot yesterday and have "played" around with

exposure to make it less dark, and hopefully show up more detail in the process ....  

I love the simplicity of it, but am still not 100% convinced that this is it, so have picked

a branch, which I can now manipulate and am going to try a few other captures,

let's see what that brings!?

Blue Daisies

a couple of weeks ago I posted some pics taken of the vibrant African Daisies

which abound just before spring .....

I "played" around with colour settings and came up with these as a

different version.... perfect for a {blue} Monday .....

"Field of Flowers'

Whilst visiting the annual herb festival on the gorgeous Doonholm property,

I found a few interesting angles from which to try

something 'different'.   Here is one example, where crouched behind

 the bed of blue indigenous Felicia (forefront), I managed to capture the

trees and flowers just ahead ...... making it appear like a field of flowers,

with a lot more distance and depth than there was in reality ....

Through the Fence

I captured this image one afternoon on the way home  - a row of

Abstract Reflection

This image was part of a photography assignment - creating an abstract image.

A vintage book with wonderful curlicue details, a pewter pear (curved shape),

a lamp for lighting and of course the right angle...

{Echo} 7: Whisper

This is the seventh "chapter" of the Echo (Word) Challenge which
 Susan Tuttle of Ilka's Attic (blog)
and her friend Chrysti of Art by Chrysti
have been running for a number of months now. 
They put out a WORD prompt (twice a month), and the key is to interpret the
word  through the camera lens, the current word prompt is WHISPER.  
As with most word prompts, especially the more "abstract ones" the mind runs
 amock with ideas!!!     My initial thoughts were - a flowing river, trees swaying in
 the breeze, snowy scenes (which for me would be VERY difficult!!),
a literal whisper(mouth to ear)...
I eventually settled on a misty morning - mainly because to catch mist you have to
 get  up very early - when all is still, no noise, no wind, just the odd bird ..... and maybe
 the whisper of a gentle breeze.

For the second image, I decided on a "fragile" looking flower/ plant - the flowers buds
 of the nandina (Sacred Bamboo) - which are small and delicate - they are there,
just  there, not too obivous, preparing for the berries that  come in autumn.
  By it's very nature the Sacred Bamboo (as it's commonly known) is also a very
 serene, calm plant which fits the prompt of Whisper perfectly.

Heart

 a leaf heart
on my my favorite, favorite items - I adore hearts of all sorts,
but this one always makes me smile.
this post is in honor on the month of love .... which to me should be more about
loving those close to you throughout the year rather than only of the 14th Feb.

New Growth

A young agapanthus flower head .... still green, still stretching and spreading out, still taking on it's lilacy colour before each and every single bud opens up in full vibrant flower, lasting for well over a month.

An emerging process - new growth, new promise, new beginnings .... a second chance?
